Title: Revisions to Method 202: Dry Impinger Method for Determining Condensable Particulate Emissions From Stationary Sources | |
Abstract:
In an effort to assist owners and operators of facilities and stack testers to meet and understand the performance-based criteria in Method 202, the EPA published an “EPA Method 202 Best Practices Handbook." This handbook was created to compile and present practices and techniques that show stack testers how to continuously evaluate and improve their standard procedures, including selection of sampling and analytical materials, to reduce systematic error and achieve a blank result that is within the limits of the method. The EPA plans to finalize the revisions to Method 202 that result from the findings and compilation of the Method 202 Best Practices Handbook. The technical topics in this rule will include but not be limited to changes in the method identified in the Best Practices Handbook. This revision will result in consistency in the execution of Method 202, which has shown wide variation in its implementation and allows many performance-based options and procedures. |
