Title: Criminal Prohibitions in 36 CFR Part 261, Subparts A and B | |
Abstract:
The Forest Service is proposing to revise 36 CFR part 261, subparts A and B, pertaining to law enforcement on National Forest System lands. The proposed rule would move certain criminal prohibitions currently in 36 CFR part 261, subpart B, which are enforced through the issuance of an order, to 36 CFR part 261, subpart A, which contains criminal prohibitions that are enforceable without the issuance of an order. The proposed rule would streamline enforcement of these prohibitions as well as enhance consistency of the Forest Service’s law enforcement practices with those of state and other federal land management law enforcement agencies. This rule will meet the Administration's priority to improve service delivery, customer experience, and reduce administrative burdens for those accessing public benefits and services. |
