Title: Endangered and Threatened Wildlife and Plants; Threatened Species Status for the Kern Canyon Slender Salamander; Endangered Species Status for the Relictual Slender Salamander; Critical Habitat
Abstract:

FWS will make a final determination on the proposed rule to list the Kern Canyon slender salamander (Batrachoseps simatus) as a threatened species and the relictual slender salamander (Batrachoseps relictus) as an endangered species under the Endangered Species Act. After a thorough review of the best available scientific and commercial information, FWS found that it is not warranted at this time to list the Kern Plateau salamander (Batrachoseps robustus). These salamanders are found in California. FWS will also make a final determination on our proposal to designate critical habitat for the Kern Canyon and relictual salamanders.
