Title: Bipartisan Safer Communities Act of 2022 and Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2022 – Implementation Revisions For National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) 
Abstract:

In accordance with CAA amendments to 18 U.S.C. 922(t), to add tribal and local throughout in reference to the categories of prohibitions upon which the NICS can base a prohibited person determination. In accordance with both BSCA and CAA, to identify local agencies as they pertain to the prospective purchaser, the FBI will need to collect the prospective transferee’s home address, county of residence, and whether they reside within the city limits. In accordance with BSCA, for NICS transactions involving persons under the age of 21, the proposed regulation amendments will address, but may not be limited to the BSCA provisions regarding the application of a delay, up to the tenth business day, if cause exists to further investigate a possibly disqualifying juvenile record.
