Title: ●Correcting Civil Penalty Amounts in Title 40, Code of Federal Regulations | |
Abstract:
This rule adds language in impacted 40 CFR sections that statutory penalty amounts referenced in non-40 CFR 19.4 sections may be out of date and current statutory penalty amounts are available in 40 CFR 19.4. EPA is required to annually adjust its statutory maximum and minimum penalties in 40 CFR 19.4, as a result civil penalties referenced in other 40 CFR sections are outdated and need correction. This rule will add a short sentence to each impacted section, such as the following: Penalty levels identified herein may be adjusted for inflation in 40 CFR part 19. |
