Title: Revisions to Select Microbial and Disinfection Byproducts (MDBP) Rules

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is evaluating whether to propose revisions to the microbial and disinfection byproducts (MDBP) rules, as authorized under the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA), to further improve public health protection from MDBPs in drinking water or to reduce the regulatory burden while maintaining or improving public health protection. In May 2022, EPA initiated a working group under the National Drinking Water Advisory Council on potential MDBP rule revisions. EPA anticipates the NDWAC making its recommendations to the Agency in late 2023.
