Title: Rear Designated Seating Position Alert 
Abstract:

This rulemaking is issued pursuant to a statutory mandate in the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) to amend Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards to require a system to include a distinct auditory and visual alert, which may be combined with a haptic alert, and shall be activated when the vehicle motor is deactivated by the operator.
