HUD/CPD RIN: 2506-AC58 Publication ID: Fall 2023
Title: ●Conforming the Acceptable Separation Distance Standards for Conventional Fuel or Chemicals of Explosive or Flammable Nature to Address New Developments (FR-6422)
Abstract:

The Acceptable Separation Distance (ASD) regulations, 24 CFR part 51, Subpart C, provide the technical requirements for determining ASD from HUD-assisted projects in proximity to hazardous operations of conventional fuels or chemicals of an explosive or flammable nature. These regulations were developed in 1984 and need to be updated to implement the latest developments in the field of fire science over the last 40 years, as current calculations and the list of hazardous substances are outdated.
