Title: Infant Pillow Ban | |
Abstract:
The Commission has established an Infant Pillow Ban (16 CFR part 1500.18(a)(16)), which bans infant pillows with all of the following characteristics: (1) a flexible fabric covering, (2) loosely filled with a granular material such as plastic foam beads or pellets, (3) easily flattened, (4) capable of conforming to the body or face of an infant, and (5) intended or promoted for the use by children under one year of age. Staff plans to submit an NPRM briefing package to the Commission in fiscal year 2023 regarding modifying regulatory requirements to address other hazardous infant pillows currently allowed in the marketplace. |
