Abstract:
49 USC 20 PROVIDES AUTHORITY TO REQUIRE ANNUAL REPORTS FROM THE CARRIE AND THE SIGNAL INSPECTION ACT 49 USC 26 REQUIRES FRA APPROVAL FOR MODIFICATION OR DISCONTINUANCE OF EXISTING SIGNAL SYSTEMS. THE SIGNAL SYSTEMS ANNUAL REPORT IS NECESSARY FOR THE FRA TO DETERMINE COMPLIANCE WITH THE SIGNAL INSPECTION ACT.
