Abstract:
THE BUREAU OF ALCOHOL, TOBACCO AND FIREARMS EXMINES THESE RECORDS TO DETERMINE STATUTORY COMPLIANCE AND FOR TRACING WEAPONS USED IN CRIMES OF VIOLENCE. LICENSEES UNDER THE GUN CONTROL ACT ARE REQUIRED TO PREPA AND MAINTAIN THESE RECORDS. RECORDS SHOW THE SOURCE OF THE FIREARMS AND AMMUNITION, TO WHOM THE ITEM WAS TRANSFERRED, AND INFORMATION ABOU THE BUYER THAT IS USED TO DETERMINE ELIGIBILITY.
