The Department has agreed that the number of copies require in regulations at 27 CFR 250.115 and in instructions to Form 487-B should be reduced to comply with the limitation specified in 5 CFR 1320.6 (c) of an original and 2 copies of any document. Regulatory changes required to reduce the number of copies should be completed no later than September 1987. Unused stocks of forms and instructions in existence at that time would not constitute sufficient reason for failure to meet that deadline.

ATF F 487-B IS USED TO DOCUMENT THE SHIPMENT OF TAXPAID PUERTO RICAN LIQUORS AND ARTICLES TO THE U.S. THE FORM IS VERIFIED BY PUERTO RICAN AND U.S. GOVERNMENT TREASURY OFFICIALS TO CERTIFY PRODUCTS ARE EITHER TAXPAID OR DEFERRED UNDER AN APPROPRIATE BOND AND SERVES AS A METHOD FOR THE PROTECTION OF REVENUE.
