FORM 972 IS USED BY SHAREHOLDERS OF CERTAIN COMPANIES TO CONSENT TO TH INCLUSION IN GROSS INCOME OF DIVIDENDS THAT ARE NOT RECEIVED. BY MAKI THEIR CONSENT, THE SHAREHOLDER MAY RELIEVE THE CORPORATION OF PAYING CERTAIN TAXES. IRS USES THE FORM TO DETERMINE IF THE SHAREHOLDERS HAV ACTUALLY INCLUDED THE AMOUNTS IN GROSS INCOME.
