Approved as amended by NSF's 9/23/93 memorandum tom OMB. In addition, NSF has indicated that it will assess the utility of adding a data element regarding university indirect cost allocation under OMB Circul A-21 for the next administration of this or a related survey. As this issue relates to university use of research facilities, this survey appears to be an appropriate vehicle for that data element.

Abstract:
THESE TWO SURVEYS OF ACADEMIC RESEARCH FACILITIES (1992 AND 1994) WILL UPDATE DATA FROM PRESIOUS BIENNIAL SURVEYS IN 1988, 1990, AND 1992 AND WILL DOCUMENT TRENDS IN FACILITIES AMOUNT, CONDITION, ADEQUACY, COST, AND NEEDS. FINDINGS WILL BE USED TO INFORM INSTITUTIONS, STATE AND FEDERAL FACILITIES PROGRAMS AND POLICY.
