INFORMATION ON NRC FORMS 542 AND 542A IS REQUIRED TO ENSURE THAT STATES AND COMPACTS KNOW THE ORIGINAL GENERATORS OF LOW-LEVEL RADIOACTIVE WASTE AS AUTHORIZED BY THE LOW-LEVEL RADIOACTIVE WASTE POLICY AMENDMENTS ACT OF 1985 SO THAT THE WASTE IS DISPOSED OF IN THE APPROPRIATE COMPACT.
