Approved consistent with clarifications in CDC memo of 10-13-00. At the conclusion of the pretest for this survey and prior to the submission of the survey, CDC shall brief OMB on the results of the pretest on (but not limited to) response rates, the incentive experiment described in this package, and if there is any change in the IRB decision on consent procedures.

Abstract:
Clearance is requested for 18 months to conduct a Pretest for Cycle 6 of the National Survey of Family Growth (NSF) based on 600 in-person interviews with women and 600 interviews with men. Data will be collected on pregnancy, parenting, and related attitudes. The information is used by NCHS, the NICHD, the Office of Population Affairs, and OASPE the Children's Bureau and the CDC HIV Prevention Program. The Pretest will test several ways to impose the quality of the data collected.
