Abstract:
Application guidelines and forms elicit relevant information from individuals, non-profit organizations, and governmental agencies that apply for funding in NEA grant categories. This information is necessary for the accurate, fair, and thorough consideration of competing proposals in the review process. Reporting requirements are necessary to ascertain that grant projects have been completed and all terms and conditions are met. The blanket clearance NEA submitted September 1, 2010 (OMB Control Number 3135-0112) included new reporting requirements for the agency's nonprofit organization grant recipients that align with the NEA's new 2012-2016 strategic plan outcomes. Reporting requirements that align with the NEA's 2012-2016 strategic plan outcomes now have been developed for state arts agencies (SAAs) and regional arts organizations (RAOs) that have Partnership Agreements with the NEA. This information collection revision serves to update only that portion of the earlier blanket clearance. The changes to the information collection involve no change in burden, either to the public or to the government. As a result, only items 1 and 8 of this supporting statement include revisions to the the information collection package submitted in 2010.
