Abstract:
The information in 34 CFR 600.54, 600.55, 600.56 and 600.57 is used by the Department during the initial review for eligibility certification, recertification and annual evaluations. These regulations help ensure that all foreign institutions participating in the Title IV, Higher Education Act (HEA) Programs are meeting the minimum participation standards.

Short Statement:
This information collection filing is an adjustment to the current burden assessment. Since the initial filing of this information collection package in 2010 there has been no change to the statute or regulations that created this information collection. The increase in the burden hours identified here is due to the increase in the number of students who may be attending foreign medical schools and subject to ยง600.55(d) requirements. In total there are 113 hours being added as an adjustment to the previously identified burden.

On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that the collection of information encompassed by this request complies with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR 1320.8(b)(3).
The following is a summary of the topics, regarding the proposed collection of information, that the certification covers:
