Short Statement: This ICR reflects an increase of 67,474 hours (from 2,487,439 hours to 2,554,913 hours) in the total estimated respondent burden from that currently in the OMB inventory. The total burden estimate has increased since the most recently approved renewal of this ICR because of a change in the methodology to calculate the number of schools with friable ACM. Although the number of schools with friable ACM has declined, it has not declined as quickly as expected in the previous ICRs. In addition, this current ICR revises the life span of the schools using the average functional age to determine the remaining life of school buildings. There has also been a change in the rate of removal of friable ACM.
