Abstract:
AMS Grant Programs provide funding to State and local agricultural departments and other local entities to offer support to rural America and the Nation's agricultural sector. Grant Program funding supports a variety of programs including efforts to expand farmers markets and other local food sources.

Short Statement:
This submission has streamlined the format of individual grant programs reporting to standardization of forms to reduce the burden for respondents. The new format submitted is grouped into three categories: Standardized forms used by all nine grant programs; eight competitive programs; and one non-competitive program. This streamlining and uniformity of forms has reduced the burden by 2,014 hours. The addition of four new grant programs in this submission has increased the number of respondents.

On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that the collection of information encompassed by this request complies with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR 1320.8(b)(3).
