Short Statement: The annual burden hours show a decrease over those presented in the previous extension. Although the FBI’s UCR Program aimed to fully transition to a NIBRS-only data collection beginning on January 1, 2021, the FBI opted to continue collecting hate crime incident submissions from SRS agencies in the short term. Therefore, burden hours still exist for agencies submitting via SRS. However, as more agencies transition to the National Incident-Based Reporting System, these burden hours will further decline.
